My new business cards arrived from Australia today and they look fantastic. I’d like to have ordered them locally to save on shipping, take advantage of the low costs here and most of all to support the local industries. But my target clients are international companies and I it wouldn’t look good to use what they have here.
I met a representative from Kuensel, the major newspaper which does all kinds of printing, and he proudly showed me the quality of his business card, highlighting the paper. My problem is that ‘paper’ is all it was, albeit a thick paper. They do a great job with newspaper, brochures and posters, but that’s the thickest paper they use. When everyone has the same, why bother doing better? I can respect that, and I’ll try them next time I need letterheads done, but I’ll keep getting my business cards done internationally.
